What inspired you to start hosting photowalks?
I was encouraged to by Analogue Wonderland and found a huge part of the photographic community I had no idea was there.
How would you describe the style or vibe of your walks?
Very communal. I really enjoy hosting walks in places I perhaps don’t know that well and getting local suggestions from attendees.
What’s been your favourite photowalk so far, and why?
Either: Analogue Wonderland’s Pentax 17 walk last autumn and getting to meet the camera designer TKO, or last year’s London Stereoscopic Photowalk where I was approached by a fox as I stand with a stereoview of a fox by 1850s stereographer TR Williams at his address in Lambeth.
Do you have a favourite spot or route for photography in your area?
Not really. There are spots of lots of towns and cities that I find fun; Piccadilly Circus in London, the canals in Cardiff, Bristol Waterside.
What do you enjoy most about meeting other photographers in person?
For me it is meeting new people or catching up with others I haven’t seen for a while, sharing ideas.
Any advice for someone thinking of hosting their first photowalk?
Make it shorter than you think. Time can easily get away from you. And don’t over think it.
